Library

Books play a vital role in our life. They are the quietest friend and wisest teacher. It is the most adaptable invention for conveying knowledge and information from the older generation to the younger one. As a member of the modern society we all are aware of its varied needs. To bring children and books together, children have to experience the pleasure of reading and there is a need for promoting reading habit as a skill among them. Once they are hooked to books, they will never in their life feel lonely, because they will always have the great mind and heart of authors, biographers, novelists, dramatist and poets as their companions.

Library of a school is considered as a part and parcel of academic set up. Our school library is like the nerve center of the school. It is rich in collection, good in environment, and excellent in services, we provide to the users. We have an excellent collection of audio video CDs, DVDs and VCDs in our e-Library section. Any user can access their subject CD on computer and download the information.

Every year we organize a library week in school premises to inculcate good reading habits among the students. Various competitions like book cover designing, bookmark making, quizzes, English elocution, scavenger hunt and debate are organized during the library week. The library staff organizes a unique exhibition of library books to showcase the extraordinary, exciting and multidimensional strength of the library. A book fair is also organized during library week every year.

All these activities encourage good reading habits and provide information, inculcate ideas and develop knowledge. This is all done to enthuse the young minds of pupils to unfold their self and discover their potential. All these functions of the library make them more books friendly and skillful, because the word library is rich in tradition, meaning and usage. We should whole heartedly encourage reading habit, so that the students can really and truly be introduced into the enchanting world of books, information and knowledge. Library of a school is the ideal place from which such an exciting journey can begin.

Hygiene

The school understands that safe drinking water and sanitation facilities are valuable for a healthy physical learning environment benefitting both learning and health.

•   There are a lot of architectural and aesthetic aspects related to school’s needs of hygiene that the school takes care of, such as: school’s building plan, safe water supply, disposition of waste, emergency lighting, ventilation, as well as adequate school facilities (halls, classrooms and common areas) and furniture.

•   The school is spanking clean with hospital like cleanliness measures to ensure hygiene.

•   Washrooms for students and teachers have been renovated. The classrooms and corridors are dusted and cleaned painstakingly. The housekeeping is overseen by a team of teachers on every floor.

•   The provision of safe and clean drinking water is through RO systems on every floor.

•   The importance of personal hygiene is taught and awareness about the same is created by the medical team of the school by addressing the students periodically through audio-visual presentations and other activities.

•   Health and hygiene of students is of paramount importance. During festivals like Holi and Diwali, students are made aware about how to play safe Holi and celebrate safe Diwali. Students prepare ecofriendly colours using fried leaves, flowers and other natural ingredients. No cracker Diwali is the norm in the school.

All necessary mesures to fight the spread of COVID-19 like social distancing, wearing masks and thermal screening, etc. are being effectively followed and practiced in a sustained manner to deal with the disease over the long run.

The school has a team of 28 dedicated staff & educators to locate the intelligence and abilities within another, drawing them out for all, even the student, to see. And then steps out of the way, allowing them to develop, create & pursue their talent and excel.

We aim to provide a broad and balanced physical education programme. So each sports is important in SJWS we provide different kind of sports to the students to nurture there holistic development in every field.
